Get to know the history and culture behind Steelpan drums and the Soca music that provides the soundtrack for Caribbean Carnival, and try your hand at playing the drums.

Dr. A. Myrna Nurse has authored UnheardVoices: The Rise of Steelband and Calypso in the Caribbean and North America. Her community activities include the ongoing positive promotion of transcultural Steelpan music and culture as a means of fostering dynamic inter- and transcultural relationships. Dale Knight will provide accompaniment.
